Decided to skip work and get some fishing in - this weekend will be a wash (in SA at least), pun intended! Took the little Grizzly out to Dunlap. On the way, I ran into USMC_Mike and The Rionator!

I caught a heck of a lot of fish, but most were in the 6-7" range. I did land a few that were 8 to 9"+ and a whopper Rio.

Early in the morning, fishing over The Rocks, I threw on a whole nighcrawler and did some bass fishing. Hooked into one, maybe a 2 pounder but he spit the darn hook!

The water was 75-79 degrees, clearer by the I35 ramp and a bit more murky as you headed south.

Here is my little boat, ready to go!

Caught a lot this sized:

This one was pretty darn big! thumb
I'm calling it a 10" RB. My little tackle box is 10" wide.

I love the color on this guy!

I later hooked into this monster of a Rio!

I caught a few more fish, Redbreasts....and a Rio or two ...on beautiful Lake Dunlap!

Very nice DR! That little jon boat is perfect for CenTex. Especially for the river sections and the skinny river lakes. I'm contemplating getting a new boat when I get back. Looking at the 20' Tracker jon boat. Have you had any hull colisions? If so, how did it hold up? Thanks for the report and the pics, especially of the lake.

No hull collisions or issues. It's a very sturdy hull. I bought new, but there are few that pop up on CL from time to time and they run about half priced from retail. Only negative things about the boat are that they tend to be a bit overpowered (at least mine) and the paint chips within 5 secs of having it on the water.

I like it a lot too. It's sorta like having a midget bass boat. Unfortunately, it's really only a 1-2 person fishing boat and my wife wants to upgrade to something slightly larger! We're looking at Mako and Boston Whalers around 17' so this thing may be for sale soon -- who knows?? I'm trying to convince her that we should keep it!

You really can't beat it for inland lake panfishing where a motored boat is useful. But it's really a bit too small.
