Hi fellow anglers,

I have HB 596c up the bow and HB 1198c at the stern. My question is why am I getting an interference for HB 596 at the front? Especially when I run my trolling motor. I can see the screen would shift up and down or go crazy for little while. It would stopped when trolling motor is not being used. However I can see the lines running up and down when the trolling motor is not being used also. Would that interference came from the HB 1198c? This is on a 16' bass tracker. How can I shield out this interference? What's funny is when I first used it......there was no interference at all until recently. Any inputs would greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading.

it sounds like a grounding issue to me, do they both share the same ground? if so make 2 different grounding points and see of that does any thing

Yes they shared the same ground. I'll change it around and see. Thanks Duncman. Didn't think of that.

I have the same exact set up and I get the same problem. HB says you need to have somone that knows how to work on TR and have a ground wire installed in the TR. I haven't had this done yet nor have I met anyone who has done it.

After redoing the ground away from trolling motor. Still same problem. No change at all. Still looking and experimenting. Hopefully I can solve. Strange thing was it was working good the first few times. Now interference is too bad to use.

Pay particular attention to the 3rd post by Bobcat1. Call HB and get the kit. They sent it to me free as well as many others. Don't take no as an answer.

This cleared my problem without all the other changes - you can only hold your mouth so many ways to make it work!

good luck as this seems to be well documented with many different fixes. very common with the DI/SI units on the bow with TM causing bad interference.

I had the same problem with mine but transom mounted. When I 1st installed it worked perfect but after only 11 hours on the unit I started having problems. If the above fixes dont work call HB back. I had to send in the power head and transducer for them to check. Come to find out my transducer was no good. They sent me a new transducer at no cost. Works great now. Good Luck
