I am generally the type that isn't disappointing by any time on the water, just being out there (normal cliche's etc..)

I stopped by one of my favorite little local creeks last Thursday expecting to find the normal assortment of hungry bream, bass and the occasional slimey fish. What I did find was a surprising lack of fish. Normal is having several bluegills fighting each other to take the fly first. This day there was hardly anyone home.

Figuring the rain from a weekend before had messed things up, I kept working upstream till I found why.

Looked like the previous owner had ripped the net and just left it there, but took plenty of fish. I had caught a few, but was really too frustrated so I called it a day. One big pool that normal holds tons of fish, was completely empty. I dont really understand this...

Sorry to hear. That really stinks. A relative recently had his 3 professionally stocked and managed stock tanks fished out when the gas drillers came through his property. Not saying anything bad against gas drillers, but one guy and a minnow bucket can do a lot of damage and fast. It's one thing if they are feeding their family, but I've seen plenty of guys who just want to take the photo with the tail gate full of fish before dumping them.

Operation Game Thief. Scout the area, if you see it happen then call 800-792-4263. I called them about some [self-censored] shotting at a hawk on opening day of dove season. The GW would love to fine them because TPW is broke.

I wish I would have seen them, TPWD is nice enough to print the number on that license we carry around. The bassies were just as gone as the bream. My guess is they had been there sometime the same day as me, I saw footprints on the way out in the creek bed.

Glad you guys feel the same way as i do on this kinda deal.
