Those are great boats. once you get comfortable with the stick steer you can make that boat turn in very tight places

I had a brand new one in 1995 and loved it until I got caught out in rough water. As mentioned earlier it will beat the driver to death and soak the passenger behind him. After a really rough ride on Buchanan I noticed water in the back of the boat on the floor. When I took it home and filled the hull with water I could see it leaking through the hull near the bow where the waves had beat it to death. I took the floor up and found a long crack in the hull from rivet to rivet about 5" long. Called Tracker and they said they would warranty it, but if I was in windy west Texas it would probably just do it again. They alowed me to take my warranty credit and apply to a new 16ft Pro V Guide 16, which they said was a workhorse of a boat used up north. It was fantastic, should have never sold it. The problem with the Panfish is the .063" hull material, it is just not thick enough for heavy duty use. The Pro V 16 was .080" and much stronger, plus being deep V it took rough water better just by design.(As a comparison my Triton 185 Crappie was .125" hull material, over twice the Panfish). The Panfish is a really neat boat, but it is designed for calmer water, which is hard to find on most Texas lakes.

Exactly why I suggest looking at others. A friend of mine has one but he only uses it at Aquilla and stays in whatever arm of the lake he launches at. Older guy and extremely safe. You have to know your limits and not push em. Thanks Billy Jack for letting him know from personal experience.

I think they would be a great small water boat or if you stayed in the creek you launched in as mentioned above. I wouldn't get out and run open water in one though. Too scary for me but maybe I'm just a wuss!

I have a pro 16, and I like it a lot but...needs to be wider with a bigger motor.
