Has anyone been on Athens lately I haven't been there in a while was wondering if the bass were biting or not any help would be helpful

They r not biting no more grass bc of all the grass carp stocked in it. Dont go
can't catch fish if you arent at the lake...go fish!!!

well, I am gonna have to respectfully disagree..
That lake is on fire..
it is about 4 ft low though. so hopefully you have some with you to help you launch, or you will have to get your feet wet.
Grass is everywhere.. different kids too..
So start with a top water... then move deeper.. and keep a look out on the point for schoolers... once you find them.. rattle trap or z-spook on top will get you bit..
always can catch some fish on the docks.

i dont know what jason may is talking about but the last time i went to athens which was less than a month ago athens had tons of grass! Go!! i bet you will tear it up. i would do what texasmo said. maybe try to fish a couple brush piles with some t rigs and carolina rigs if you can find some.

Think ol Jason may be thinking of Purtis where you pay to fish a lake that tpwd dumped way too many grass eating carp for the size.Now they are blocking off the coves too keep the damn things out. Funny, hope they learned their lesson.

Bassinamped ur picture is from the north end under the brisge good spot I like that area. I never caught a fish from athens its tough. Lol throw a spinnerbait u,will thank me later
can't catch fish if you arent at the lake...go fish!!!

Not that much but that dock looks like its on the north end or behind the jetty by the pump station area.

Lol the lake athens I know about has two docks on it. One by the ramp,and one at the state park no wake,lake and no grass anywhere big carp though.

Its,a mud hole now poor lake athens went down hill
