 Two PB's in 30 Minutes!

Went fishing at the local pond, to keep practicing my fly fishing skills. Well, they suck, my casting is horrible, especially with wind. But I did catch my PB on a fly rod! Wahoo!!! The sky is the limit! I'm probably the 4th or 5th best fly fisherman in the City of Windcrest, on this particular pond!   Next, I caught a TERROR of a Green on a pinch of night crawler, using my old trusty Eagleclaw Featherlight. It was easily 11".   Landed another nice one right after...  And on my last cast, caught a well-worn decent sized bass with a hook (not mine) in it's head. Hard to see, it's by his eyeballs. This guy has been through H.E. double toothpicks!

great job on the fly. I finally just had to start doing it my way and get away from the youtube vids on how to do it right. Now I can at least fish with a fly although I must confess there is nothing gracefull about it lol. Again great job in todays wind

As long as you can get the fly from point a to point b, catch a fish, and have fun, who cares if you're doing it the right ?

Nice fish DR!!! Don't worry too much about how to use the fly rod, just use it!! You will figure it out in time. It just takes practice and experience.

did you take the nose ring out of the bass? No, because it was right next to its brain and we didn't see the other end - the fish was fine and the hook was rusting away anyways. I have caught fish with hooks in their cheeks and I've just clipped them off, but this hook had been in there for some time, it was well healed and was really just part of the bass at this point. I really didn't want to move it at all because of where it was positioned. And....for all I know the bass had it put in himself!
