If so, my Dad loved that place because of the hushpuppies. I didn't see the fascination with them. Blah old fried hot water cornbread is all it was.

That is the place. The hushpuppies looked like they had been squeezed out of a tube and had no seasoning or flavor at all. It was just blah old fried hot water cornbread, except worse.

I live in Houston, but will say my favorite catfish joint is Catfish Sam's in Arlington or Fort Worth. It's sort of in that in between area and I don't know what city it is in.

Yes we had a Mr. Catfish that sat on the hill at Ray Hubbard was a fixture in our after Church schedule for many years. Sad it's gone also.

I agree. I grew up in Ore City and ate there a lot. I think he just sold it. He had a processing/distribution facility in OC at one time but it shut down

I ate at one in Ore City yesterday for lunch. It was decent.

If you order catfish at your favorite eatery, take this into account.

+1

I read an article about how Tilapia is the perfect commercially raised fish...cuz all they need to survive is some algae and their own POO...which propagates the algea...which becomes POO.

Talk about a circle of life...YUK!

I'm with Longeye...I'll catch my own...and if I do find my self at at fancy fish joint...I'm pickin' something off the carnivore menu!
