I was on Bridgeport this morning and used the ramp on the dam.
I also saw a bunch of guys using the shallow water ramp at the county park.

Getting in and out was easy, catching fish...not so much.

Shallow ramp at Wise County Park, east and west side of 380 in Runaway Bay are all good. Not sure about dam. Its probably ok but launch with discretion. Fishing has been very good.

I used the ramp at Wise County Park-someone on this site recommended the ramp on the point versus the two very steep ramps and I thank you for that tip. When you're unloading by yourself, the ramp on the point is much easier. Plenty of water and not steep at all. I fished in the marina area for a while and saw several boats put in there-goodr ramp and they didn't have any problems getting wet. The ramp at the dam looked a little more difficult but I was fishing from a distance and didn't get a good look at it. Just "sounded" like the boats weren't getting in/out as easily.

Same here on the 12-16 inch fish. I am new to the lake and don't know it well at all. Probably caught 15 fish total all day and none that were over 16 inches. No smallmouth. A couple of spots. It's a pretty lake but I just don't know where to fish on it. Caught my fish on drop shot, shakey head, crankbait and a couple on topwater at first light. Fished shallow to 25ft of water. No fish on a jig which really surprised me. Never tried a texas rig. Fished mostly deeper docks. Heard about people catching fish ALL day but that wasn't me.

Places where the size of the shoreline rock changes, places where there are channel swings closer to the shore, large submerged boulders all alone on a breakline, brushed out docks, the concrete pillars that some deep dock poles are attached to etc all are places to lock in on some fish. Some people get overwhelmed by the sheer amount of rock out there. I look at it like fishing grass lakes, you still have to focus on channel swings, breaklines and cover the same. way. You see shallow wood or cover then chances are good fish are on it. Also smallmouth really like the pea gravel bottom areas out there. Like I said before just keep at it and you will start to see some commonlaities in what to look for.
