OK I'm looking for advice on where to fish in Oklahoma I am planing a trip for mid October. I am leaning toward Murray, Arbuckle or Broken Bow. I have never been to Murray or Arbuckle. Where would you go and why?
Thanks

Murray....the lake is crystal clear and full of small mouth. There are some neat cabins called "Murray Bed and Berth"

It depends on whether you want to catch largemouth, smallmouth, or some of each.
1. Largemouth - Arbuckle 2. Smallmouth - Murray out of the three choices you offered, but I'd take Texoma over any of them for smallies any day 3. Both - Broken Bow or Texoma
as you can see I'm not a big fan of Murray.

I don't usually get to fish for smallmouth but I do love to catch them. I have never been to Texoma and it is so big I am worried I would not figure anything out in a weekend. After the other posts about Texoma I have not ruled it out. Basically I just want a decent place to stay and some fun fishing...
Thanks

The fish should be schooling at Konawa. Last year at that time, I was catching 40-50 a day. You could stay in a motel at Ada and fish Konawa and Arbuckle (30 minutes away). They have been schooling good for about 3 weeks now....

Top 3 Oklahoma Lakes
1. Broken Bow- Beatiful scenery, great affordable cabins. And when your tired of wearing out the smallmouth/largemouth/walleye, Walk down to the lower mountain fork and enjoy great trout fishing. Bryce Archey is a great guide on this lake FYI.
2. Mcgee Creek Lake- Beautiful, big bass, and this time of year they school like crazy. Standing timber all over the lake. For info on this lake check out Chuck Justice website.
3. Texoma---Smallmouth, Smallmouth, Smallmouth....Go to Preston Point/Eisenhower/Little Mineral/Butterfly cove and throw a small watermelon-orange flipping jig-craw trailor and have the time of your life! Then at sun up-sun down....get the zara spook out and tear them 10lb. striper up (A blast I must say).
Whatever you choose I hope you have a great time.
