Yeah I was at Academy and got a Pinnacle Alyssa for 10$, it was on clearance, and I was just looking for a cheap rod to put it on.

I have no idea about the new ones but I got one in 89?? Maybe 88. All my dads rods were pistol grips and I wanted a long handle so he bought me one of those, I caught a gillion fish on it. They'll work for sure.
I'm still inthe belief that for 49.00 the all star classics are the way to go. I still have a few of them that I use regularly
Pick a few up and see what feels best in your hands, every one likes somethig different , what's "best " for me might. It be best to you
