I do love the Beetle spin, CastMaster, and Mepp's spinner... but... I've caught almost every kind of saltwater and freshwater fish on a little white Senko... fish it like a plastic worm or a jerk bait... fast or slow. If I could have only one fly it would be the gold flash-a-boo Crazy Charlie on an A-H hook. Trout and salmon, bonefish to barracuda, peacock to largemouth, catfish to carp. Everything likes it. and it's so cheep and easy to tye.

Rooster tail, yellow/black or red/white. Different sizes, but I have boated salt and fresh, from largmouth to smallies and specs with em. You can put it in the hands of a kid and they can tear it up. Tough bait to beat if you aren't sure what might bite.

Title says it all. Fly flingers opinions welcome too. If only one fly...it would be a clouser type If only one lure...it would be a rattlin hot spot/trap If only one bait...it would be a worm

My vote is for chrome Rat-L-Trap with either black or blue back. Its the most versatile lure in my experience because you can cast it and troll it. I havent jigged with one though like someone mentioned earlier. I even caught fish at night with just the moonlight. In addition, it works great in freshwater and saltwater! It was my go-to lure when I used to fish the bay and surf in the Pacific when I was young. I was pleasantly surprised when I found that it works great in lakes around here and the Gulf, too! I have one in every available size in my tackle box except for the huge 1 oz version

By far a GOLD SPOON. Fresh or salt. Casting, jigging or trolling. I have caught more fish on one than any other lure. I have caught everything from cats to bass to reds to specs and quite a few in between. I always have several gold spoons in my tackle box. Always.

Beetle spins have done me well in ponds. My overall best fly would have to be a wooly bugger, I've caught anywhere from trout in Colorado to bluegill/Lmb at lake falcon!
