I would give my input, but I'm just an amateur at kayak fishing. Don't wanna give anyone bad advise.

Ban-D Come out to the GTG next Saturday. There will be just about every kind of fishing kayak you would want to try. And we're a friendly bunch. We will always help a person interested in kayaking. And besides, it's going to be a fun time. A real nice way to find out what you are interested in. Just a side note...I have a boat, and haven't used it in 2 years...but I'm in my kayak 3 or 4 times a week.

I'll probably try and come out next Saturday. I might have to go to Killeen I'm not sure yet. Thanks for all the advice guys. I can jus see my self tipping over and losing all my gear my first time out haha. I've been in every kind of boat you can think of except a kayak!

Ban-D... I have had a few yaks. None for sale but maybe I can help with input. I use all of them.

But... I recently bought a Perception Pescador 120... (Have a Wilderness Tarpon 130 also)... Both are made by Confluence. The old tarpon is now sold as a Pescador. i went to academy once it clicked that once the Pescadors sell out, the new pescadors will arrive and the price will go up.

At the Academy I went to, there were 6 in the back, but after I paid and went to fill out paperwork, the yaks were already registered to people whom paid in advance. The last yak left was the only one available.

I picked it up for $540 tax included. The Tarpons sell for way more. Same thickness, same mold. Tarpon better for standing up and more stable... but my Pescador in a straight line whoops my Tarpon with rudder.

Also have in garage or belongs to freinds but in my garage:

Wilderness Tarpon 130
Ocean Kayak Torque 13
Ocean Kayak Scrambler XT 12
Ocean Kayak Frenzy 10
Perception Pescador 12
Pelican Castaway 11' 6"... I know, I know... but it's faster and lighter than my Scrambler

Try B4 you buy is always good advice. New or used. As far as tipping over - sure it's possible but there are quite a few yaks out there where it won't be likely! That's one of the best things about these new kayak designs for fishing.

GTG on the 29th will be a great opportunity to "taste test" lots of different yaks. We've all got well grounded opinions but your opinion it the one that counts. Hope you can make it!
