Not knowing anything about the NGT company I'd say the Daiwas; however the Wychwood Signature series look interesting, too.

Ive got 2 diawa regal plus bri. You are welcome to meet me at the lake to check em out. Everybody had pretty good stuff to say about them. Ive heard guys say to spend the little extra and get the regal plus reels.

if you get the regal bri plus, stay away from the 5000's they are junk. the 4500 are ok though.
cabelas had a sale going on for the salt strikers for 40$. might see if its still going on.

The smaller the reel the better need the fatherless boys to learn to cast them.But must have runner feature

Bottomdwellers.com has some baitrunners for good price with good reviews.......i havnt tried one but have thought about ordering one

Some people have had great luck with the Daiwas, some people not so much.
I personaly love them and have not had a single problem.
