A few days late posting this one, but I stopped in at REI (the one on 635) and noticed they had lite jackets on sale. Lots of mid-shell, wind, and rain jackets on one of the circular clearance racks up stairs.
I found a $99 North Face mid-shell on sale for $68 and it rang up $48 at the register!

There were big sizes! XXL and XXXL!
But yeah, if you're not a model athlete shopping at REI can be rather tough.
