New to this site, and cant talk good enough about it, live in NC but have been lookin at this one a couple weeks now and to say the least it has kept me busy, came on here and saw 600 viewing at one time in bass fishing and just thought wow... We have a couple good forums here but nothing like this one, on that note what are your thoughts on swimming jigs.

Do you think it can fill the spinnerbait spot because the spinnerbait bite for me this year has been off and i know there are a ton thrown.... Just trying to switch it up, will swim jig be ok with out grass around or does it just seem to shine more around grass?

You dont need grass, the Swim Jig works great around any kind of shallow cover or docks (both floating and fixed), tire reefs, rocks... really anywhere you would throw a spinnerbait or crankbait the swim jig can be productive. Just keep varying your retrieve until the fish tell you what they want.

What I like about swim jigs is you can flip it, drag it, swim it, hop it, stroke it....whatever it takes.

I caught my first swim jig fish this past weekend in 4' of clear water at Amistad along some rocks and the fish almost pulled the rod out of my hand and it was only a 3 pounder. I'm going to be spending more time fishing one now.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

I fish a swim jig a lot and have yet to get bit. I have used both hollow body trailers and speed craws. I'll keep hammering away at it, but need to get those confidense bites!

They will work anywhere you can throw a jig, but the head design affects functionality. Brush, docks, anywhere there is a crevice- hey will hang up in it! I'm working with someone trying to figure out a new design. If they do t want it when I am done, I will just post it on the TFF and tell how I did it.

I have Bluegill, Perch, and Shad in my arsenal. Trailer wise I like a Speed Craw or Riptail Minnow.

Same as Buda on colors. I caught an over on Fork a couple years ago. In the TFF tourney on a swimming jig fished on the bottom similar to a wood jig. Just hopping it along. Black/blue with hags tornado F4 in watermelon/chart.

Swim jigs are awesome! I only keep them in shad and bluegill colors. I use a speed craw, or a swimbait as a trailer. Very effective!

Make sure you have a good trailer, like a net bait paca craw or jr. Paca craw.
Remember that the weight of your jig will effect how fast your retrieve is, the heavier the jig the faster you have to reel to keep it off the bottom. I like a 1/4-3/8oz jig.

Don't forget about a Zoom single tail or split tail grub as a trailer. It has been deadly here lately for me on a white/ glimmer blue swim jig

And welcome to the forum welcome
