Boy, was yesterday nice or what. Shot up to Lake Crockett, up there north of Honey Grove in the Caddo Nat'l Grasslands and had mostly glass smooth water all day. That's a great little lake, full of bass, never more than one or two other anglers. Lake is just full of lilly pads, grass and reeds. So may want to put this on your list of lakes to try out. Have always had success there but wasn't having much luck until after lunch time when I switched to a green pumpkin biffle bug (only one I had) then Bam! on first cast and several thereafter. Guess what I'm going to pick up at Cabela's on my way home this evening!! Have also had success throwing 10 inch worms onto the dam and walking them back but not yesterday.

Helped a 92 yr old man load his boat and chatted with him a while. Really enjoyed that visit. Can't believe how good of shape he was in! Crockett is supposed to be good crappie lake too. As much surface action that I saw, looks like fly fishing it would be a blast too. He said Pat Mayes Lake was another good lake for bass so will have to try that one out some day.

Really enjoyed the Jackson Kayak Demo day last Saturday at Paddle Point Park and meeting all of you and getting the chance to see these fine craft up close and personal. TXWhitacre - thank you for sharing your boats and all the tips, tricks and hints. BTW ordered some of those flip tail lizzards you showed me - can't wait to try them out.

Would like to meet up for some fishing when I get back from Colorado after next week after I see what Brown can do for me (that's Mr. Big Brown Trout!!). C-yall later.

Yes the big bass below left in my sig came from Crockett... Really like that lake... It's right next door to coffee mill too. Someday there will be an NTKBF event in the Caddo grasslands where people will be allowed to fish either lake... It's pretty far but worth it in my opinion.

Wow, nice hawg, and fat too. That would be cool to do an event up there. I took a pic of one I caught yesterday but it was suffering from Dallas Cowboy disease - got the big head and no guts! Must have been on a diet or something, was long and lean.
