That was a giant bass though. Damn near scared the poor guy out of his yak seat  I bet he had to paddle to the shore to change his pants after that strike!

He did lose the fish. Watch again very closely. It's easier to see when he does the slow motion replay. In the last second, the fish throws the frog and you see it fly up. His head looks up when this happens.

Right at the end his rod goes limp .... er straight ..... anyway, he has no fish on any more!
