Once the boat lane ends in front of Locks Mtn, are you clear to run or do you know of any specific hazards between there and the entrance to Alley Creek? Entrance to alley creek is kinda tricky when the water gets low. I THINK it's marked now but be careful. Also, be very careful around the east bank on the entrance at tejas. There are some big humps there. About 4-6 inches deep.

Once the boat lane ends in front of Locks Mtn, are you clear to run or do you know of any specific hazards between there and the entrance to Alley Creek? Running south from Locks run past the buoys on the left side. Run about 50 yards past the last buoy (most southern one). Hump runs out past that last southern buoy. Turn back north and run towards the Alley Crk Ramp. Notice the buoy marking the large rocks on the point on your right. We usually swing around those rocks in the channel. I actually found a new stump last weekend. It's sitting right in the channel where we normally run. It's just barely showing. It's about 10-20 yards north of the big rocks/buoy on the point. From there I would idle to the bridge. Stumps are starting to show.

I ran through every spot you marked today. Wish I would have saw this yesterday for I hit the stump in front of the pump station and when I hit boat run hump it was pucker sucker. If the lake drops much more that might be the worst place

I spoke to Cody Berry at the Corps of Engineers office in Jefferson. He said I was the first person he can remember ever calling with concerns about the boat lanes. The good news is, it sounds like they are willing to take some steps to get the problem areas marked. I told him we could get some volunteers to help identify and help set markers if necessary.
There was a question about the concrete near Cedar Springs ramp. Mr. Berry said when the water was 3 feet lower than it is now, he didn't see the remains of a bridge there. Is that actually what the concrete is ... part of a bridge?
Does anyone want to get involved with an effort to get some obstacles marked at LOP?
The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

Yep its a bridge hit it yeaterday, it is right by the first pole when you leave the ramp I spoke to Cody Berry at the Corps of Engineers office in Jefferson. Does anyone want to get involved with an effort to get some obstacles marked at LOP? Yep, I'll volunteer to help and actually got some marking(waypoints) done. I was going to LOP today to confirm them, but it rained too hard. But it probably would have been a low boat traffic day. Later...

It's a bridge...I've seen it out of the water. I would be willing to volunteer my time to get some sort of marking system set up and put into place. It's about the safety of our fellow fishermen.

Even with photos and markings it's just not the place to be running if you are not intimate with the river. Best advice is for all the guys in the upcoming tournies to pile in buck horn and duke it out lol.
