I have a 2000 Champion 191 . Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can get a small fold-up 1 or 2 step stern ladder for the narrow stern on this fine craft? Nuchols and Can Do both have original issue ladders for $200. They are too big and too costly. I don't want to go swimming, I just want to be able to get back in the boat if I should need to.

If you don't find one, remember that you can stand on the fin above the prop and use the tilt/trim button to raise you up.

Thanks, that's plan "B". I've seen otherChampions with small prefabricated ladders and they came from somewhere.
Absent a store bought ladder, does anyone know where I can get a 4' lenth of 1" OD ss tube and have it bent (hickey bar)to shape. Accessories to make a ladder abound, once I find the ss tubing.

I don't want to go swimming, I just want to be able to get back in the boat if I should need to. Herr, Gringo, Mack's Discount Tackle has a 'rope and PVC' ladder for just such a purpose. They're under $50.00. Mack's is in Lindale. TFP
Above all else hold these two things in the greatest of circumspection; government and self. YOLO=Schiefspiegler

Am I the only senior Champion owner who doesn't have a safety ladder or are the others young enough to leap back in the boat when they go over the side?

Oldgringo, you've got mail! Vance only builds the Easy Step. It's what I have on mine and is practically useless for a guy my size.

Oldgringo, I have one on the back of my 203 Champion, but I don't know who makes it. I will try and take a pic of it, and also see if I have anything in the original paperwork. Its a nice ladder, fits between the jackplate and the rope eyelets on the back.

Thanks,
I've seen a smaller one somewhere other than the elaborate assembly that can be bought from Can Do or ordered on a Champion. It sounds like you may have it and I'd appreciate a picture and any info that you can forward.

There was a time that I could leap tall buildings and stop locomotives that was then, this is now. I'll need a ladder to get back in.

I could not find who made this ladder, it may be Champion.
