Awesome, nice. You know you can eat the fins. I always thought they were gross, until I had Stingray soup. Boil fins for a long time, taste so good.

Yup barbs grow back like fingernails. The best thing to do is clip that barb off immediately so you can handle the ray safely while you unhook and release it. Wounds from a stingray barb can take up to 6 months and many rounds of antibiotics to heal.
Congrats again on the nice ray. I'm down there almost every weekend I can be. We have a big red enclosed trailer with a rack on top. If you ever see us, stop by for a cold one.
