Caught one years ago about the size of a dinner plate. Hardest fighting fish I've ever hooked

#1, not a cownose, it's a southern stringray.
My guess is around 180#
nice catch, regardless.

Congrats man! Thats awesome! Those big rays are really amazing creatures. We caught one in that area a few weeks ago that was 5'8" across. Then we caught one the next weekend that was 4'11" across. We estimated that the bigger one weighed 160-180. It was a blast to catch them. I cut the barb off before we released it safely. Those barbs make cool souveniers. Just boil them for a little bit and they end up looking cool.
