I've been using it for many years.

At first I had break off problems. I talked to a guide who I knew was using it and he said wet the knot.

Since that time I have had no breaks.

I use the 12 all the time for crankbaiting and 15 and 20 for worm fishing. 15 for DD22's.

No problems off the 3000 yard or smaller spools.

10lb test

I have used the 10# for CB's and if I tie a palomar knot it will break real easy for some reason. If you are tieing that know try another knot and see what happens. I did notice the 10# line did not like that knot at all!

If you are going to use flourocarbon, Seaguar or Trilene 100% are THE lines to use. Monofilament, Big Game or P-Line are about as good as it gets. I usually don't mess around with co-poly lines, just because flouro and mono cover pretty much all the bases. Braid I just use Power Pro. That formula has worked very well for me and manages to keep costs down as well. They make more expensive flouro and mono but the difference does not justify the extra cost.

I personally think it is just a marketing thing (what isn't?) they came up with when flourocarbon lines were first hitting the market and they did not have one yet.

I noticed that same thing a while back, they both say fluorocarbon coated so I bought the CX Premium instead of the Fluoroclear.

I also use P-line 100% fluorocarbon, Halo, and CXX and have had good luck with them as well.

I've been using the Floroclear for years with no problems. The polamar knot works great if you tighten the knot before you slide it down to the hook.

Every p line I've ever used was junk. It all breaks too easy. Sun line floro and suffix mono is all I use.

You've got to match the line to the application, your rod, reel, water, and your style. No breakoffs, ever. P Line 100% Fluorocarbon is the strongest, most abrasion resistant, most consistant,Fluorcarbon you can buy. Never broken it off.The negative re P line 100% is that it is stiffer and harder to handle, than most FCs,but that's the nature of strong FC. The stiffer/harder FCs are stronger, etc. That's just the way Flurocarbon go. I Pitch or rip with P line 100%. But,if you ain't got FZ1 skill, then, you have use that other weak stuff.

I agree...my only complaint is sometimes is is hard to break off

Right. I have to wrap my hand with a towel,or glove up,so the line won't cut my hand, when I try to break it.

I've been using the flouroclear 12lb throwing cranks and have really liked it .... Just gotta tie the right knot and use it for the right applications . I would never flip with it .

One thing must be remembered here. The way line companies rate their line in terms of pound test is entirely up to the company. What I want to know is what is the tensile strength of a line. CXX is waaaaay underrated because the diameter of CXX is MUCH larger than most other fishing line on a pound test basis.

=============================

The following is a list of various lines that are rated at 10 pound test.
Source

P Line CXX extra strong, crystal clear .0145

P Line CXX extra strong, Flor Green .0140

Gamma Copolymer Competition Grade .013

Trilene XT .0135

Berkely Big Game Hi Test Electric Green .014

Sufix Tritanium Plus .013

Trilene Maxx .013

Stren Extra Strength .012

Yozuri Hybrid .0125

Sufix Seige .012

Izorline XXX Super Copolymer .012

Izorline Platinum .012

Sufix Elite .012

Stren Original .013

P Line Evolution .011

Big Game clear .012

Stren Magnathin .011

Stren Magnathin .011, reliability double check

P Line CFX 100% Floro leader .012

P Line Floroclear Copolymer .012

Cabela's Pro Line Low Vis Green .012

Cajun Red .012

Ande green.012

=============================

From the above we can see that:

CX Premium 10 Pound test
Diameter: 0.0105
Actual breaking strength: 13.5 pounds
Tensile Strength: 156 kips

CXX Xtra-Strong (clear) 10 pound test
Diameter: 0.0145
Actual breaking strength: 22.737 pounds
Tensile Strength: 136 kips

My reasoning here is that if Im going to be pitching, etc. Ill go to 30 pound test CX Premium, rather than say 20 pound test CXX Xtra-Strong.
