My dad taught me everything I know about fishing, and I'm sure he can say I've taught him a few things over the years. I remember fake fishing in the back yard in his little two man buster boat. He kept his patients with me when teaching me how to throw a baitcaster. I started with the easy stuff... Spinnerbaits, crankbaits ect. and learning to throw a worm was a huge acomplishment for me. My first big catch was a 4lber on a little spoon in a pond where my aunt lived. I could Probly recall tons and tons of memories thanks to him and what he has taught me. I've been fishing tournaments with my dad for over 8 years now. It's been great, I think we complement eachother with different techniques (but have the same hookset...almost lol). Goethe first time ever, we had to compete against eachother to help out a couple of club friends with a down motor on the boat, and it was the strangest feeling ever. All I know is I love fishing with my dad and will continue to do so until itsno longer possible.

Thanks for being my partner dad, wouldn't want it anyother way!!

Good stories. Me and my dad fish all the time together, I couldnt imagine what it would be like without having my dad around. We have had alot of good fishing trips together, He has fished ever since I remember and he still hasnt got over 7 pound bass, and I give him a hard time about it all the time lol.

I'm lucky enough to fish a bunch of tournaments with my old man. I could find a partner that catches more fish....but I wouldn't trade those days on the water with my dad for anything!

My dad and I were looking forward to fishing the McD's again this year. This would have been our second time to fish it. Unfortunatly he passed the 22nd of Aug. 57 years old is way too young to die. Haven't made my mind up weather or not I'm gonna fish it this year, I guess well see. He was not only my fishing partner, but we hunted together and he was my traveling partner for a lot of my rodeo career. I'm sure gonna miss him.

Fished a lot of Tournaments with my Dad, some of the best memories of my life. He passed in 1996. He used to fish some of the craziest colors back then & caught fish on them. Good Times

Yep, we fish together all of the time though not just tournaments. Can't imagine him not being around.

Fished FWFF's bass club for several years with my dad, it was probably the most enjoyable fishing I've ever done, and he got to hang out with a bunch of great fireman, I think he enjoyed that more than the fishing!

I fished a few tournaments with my Dad and they were a blast. We still fish whenever we get together. Those days make great memories.

Best fishing partner I could have, taught me everything I know about those little green fish. He is my partner in all the media events and a pretty good stick at that!!!!!

I get to Fish a Tournament about once a year with my Dad. I always try to enjoy every second, and not take for granted the time alone I get to spend with him. We always spend more time talking about life and family than fishing hard. He was/and is always there for me, and taught me all I know about the outdoors.

I have never fished a tournament with my Dad. But I know that if I have the option I would much rather spend my fishing time with him than any other partner. It always amazed me how close we became even though there was never much conversation while on the water.

Sometimes I think he enjoyed teaching me to fish as much as he enjoyed fishing. My parents are now foster parents for children with special needs. As long as they are able he has always taken them out fishing with him. I definitely feel like his doing this has greatly improved their lives and given them opportunities that they might not have had otherwise. I know that his example has made me the man I am today. I always hope I can live up to that standard.

BTW I love this thread.
