you have to realize that at the mcdonalds most of the people fishing only fish once or twice a year. to answer your question about how close, well when i can throw a dd22 on their deck and pull a couple of rods off, then they realize they are to close.

I useually send a carolina rig with a 1oz weight in there direction to let them know and if they don't take the hint then I''ll say something.

I useually send a carolina rig with a 1oz weight in there direction to let them know and if they don't take the hint then I''ll say something. That is exactly what I do. I try to be as clear as I can about where I'm fishing and what direction I'm headed. If they begin to get a little close, I will make a deliberate cast to hopefully show them they are getting too close. If that doesn't work, I'll say something but it's respectful. 99% of the time this works. Like Tidwell said above, most of these people don't realize what they are doing wrong, so by nicely saying something they take heed. Now, with all that said, if you're catching fish all of the above advice goes out the window. Sometimes it becomes a free-for-all and being nice doesn't work.

Honestly we haven't had any problems, last year we were on fish and we left our spot to go weigh because we had an hourly winner. We came back after weigh in to a boat on our spot. He said this is you guys spot come on over you can have it back. We thanked him and went on to the next spot but it was nice of him to offer. I have been pleasantly suprised at how courteous everyone was. Actually falcon in Feb was alot worse for us than McDonalds has been. We had people try to pull right up on us down there.

It will be interesting. I've heard some crazy stories regarding fishing distance at McD's. This will be my first time fishing McDonalds and I've always felt like being on the lake with that many people at once was stupid. But then again, when your buddies win boats/trucks/cash I figured what the hell, I'll try.

I just cast an Alabama rig all around their boat until they move. If that doesn't work, I cast a Hud bait inside their boat. If that doesn't work, I tell them there's free beer at weigh in. If that doesn't work, I point my boat away from theirs with my motor pointing at them. Trim the motor up so only the prop is under water and start the motor full throttle. By the time they clean all the mud off, the tournament is over!

Gotta take it for what it is, it's a one cast tournament. And you know it's gonna be crowded all over that lake, but you know that when you sign up. Just be careful out there but i have found most people are pretty polite. We always have a good time.

The only issue to really watch out for at McDonalds is running before light. Do not be in the boat lanes idling along. There are too many folks running WOT in them only using GPS. The first hour is always dangerous. Be Alert for those running hard.
