Went to Fayette County Lake this morning for the first time. Launched at Oak Thickett Park at daylight. It was a beautiful morning with temps in the high 60s early. The wind was blowing 5-10 with gusts to 15 all day. Water temp was 85-87 everywhere I went. Tried to get a top water bite going early, but no luck. Went to pitching plastics in the grass and more of the same.
I finally made a good decision around 10 AM. Went looking for a nice point with some sharp dropoffs. Found some submerged grass on the point and started throwing an umbrella rig and BAM! A nice 3.5 was on! Continued for a while then the action began.
Schooling fish were busting shad all over the place. I grabbed a jerkbait and had three more on in no time. Decided to switch lures so I could get a little more distance and grabbed a sexy shad lipless crank. Chased schools until about 2:45 and they completely shut off. I didn't count, but probably boated 25 or more 2-3 lb bass before they quit biting. These fish will fool you for sure. The 2 lb'ers were fighting like they were 5-6 lbs.
It was an absolute blast. Good luck everyone and be safe! Brian

Thanks for the report and glad you found them. And yes those 2-3 pounders put on one heck of a fight.

Other than the music( just my opinion!) I thought it was great! I love the lake & thought it was a nice tribute to such an awsome bass fishing lake. You did a really nice job w/ the video! HCBasser
