Raider,
I'm not sure which model battery this ad was for, but if it was one of the gel batteries (AGM), it might be a good deal.
I bought 2 of the XPS deep cyle regular/wet batteries(not sure of the model) for 59.99 and had them for about 18 months and they would no longer hold a good charge. The good news is, I took them back to BPS and got a 50% credit toward new batteries in Jan 05.
It is hard to say if what you are looking at is a good deal or not...if the battery is a gel style and it is the right size for your application and has a good amp hour rating, I think I would get it.
If not, it is probably just an average deal, no telling how long it was on the shelf, etc. But they do stand behind the warranty on the battery which is full replacement for 1yr and pro-rated after that. Keep the receipt.
Good luck.

It is definitely a gel battery as denoted by the AGM in the description. If you go to BPS compare the ratings for reserve capacity, amp hours, discharge cycles, etc. to others on the shelf and make a final decision.
Sounds like a good deal to me though. I would have bought AGMs if they were not $120 apeice at the time I was looking. They are more resistant to vibration and maintenance free unlike traditional batteries.

There is a difference between the gell cell battery and the Absorbed Glass Matt (AGM) battery. The AGM is the one you want. It will be totally maintenance free. No adding water.
Check out the reserve capacity and Cold Cranking Amps compared to other AGM batteries and then compare prices.

I am thinking about ordering the Cabelas brand of AGM battery. Their 24 series battery has more cold cranking amps that the series 31 of Bass Pro, and they are on sale right now.
I am going to order 2 series 27 batteries for my trolling motor.
