I had good luck at brauning fishing live tilapia on a slip rig.

Cought a few cats and reds from shore.

If I were you Id wait till the front has set in a few days. It could help lower the temps of the lake.

Either way tight Lines!!!

Just got back from Calaveras and nothing going on out there. A lot of dead fish floating and the place stinks along the dam with a lot of buzzards sitting on the rocks snacking. No wind this morning made the stench worse.

I didn't talk to bank fishermen this morning but did troll up and down the dam with a big rattletrap then fished 3 catfish spots that are normally productive. 2 or 3 little taps but no takers on Big Marv's cheese bait, shrimp or chicken liver. Fish were showing on the finder but were turned off.
Giving Braunig a go Wednesday and let Calaveras clean up some from a fish kill. Later

anybody know if calaveras reds are near the dam yet? is the lake recovering from the fish kill? thinking of going there tomorrow night, but hoping it is not still the stinky stagnant death pool it was a week ago....or how about braunig? it is usually a lot cooler than caly...are they near the dam yet there? any updates appreciated!
