Im looking at getting a rod pod. Most of the pictures I've seen of pods are on fairly flat smooth surfaces. Are there any out there that are adjustable enough to set up on a fairly steep bank?

Does anyone know anything about the BFS alarm systems? I'd really like something with a remote but didn't know if BFS was the way to go.

Rod-Pods are great; however you might just want to get three banksticks and tripod adapter that way you'll be able to use the banksticks on most occasions and use the tripod for awkward banks. As far as BFS goes I haven't heard too many good things. Don't get chintzy alarms due to the fact they have a remote, a decent respectable brand of alarms will get you much further.

rod pod you have a couple good choices in the 90-150 Nash & fox have great ones around that price but if you have a 200+ budget your possibilites are endless. what Erick M said is a great idea I would've done that also if I didn't purchase my 3 pods lol

Most pods of decent quality will be asjustable for about any surface you fish on - smooth, rough, uneven, steep. A Skypod will put your rod tips up at about 75-80 degrees so will dou the same on steep bank. Of course adaptability comes with cost. The more adaptability the more the pod will cost.

As far as the BFS alarms go I have only heard bad things about them. Go for a good brand name alarm and save money long term eg. My Fox LCR's with remote are in there 19th year and still as good as new. My previous set of Delkims are still being used by their Second owner

That solar world wide looks pretty awesome but is out of my budget for now.

I've been looking more into alarms and have found them from $10 to well over $100 each. My alarm budget is about $150. Id like to get 3 alarms but would settle for 2. The fox micron warrior is in that budget but is it any good? Anyone have a recommendation that fits my budget? Thanks.

I used to have two fox warrior microns, they were great. They don't have many options as there is no sensitivity or tone controls, but they are highly reliable and have pretty good battery life. Mine survived the nastiest conditions...heavy rain and wind and ice and cold.

Unfortunately they didn't survive my forgetful nature. I accidentally lost both of them in two separate incidents when I left them at swims still on banksticks.

the fox warrior alarms are a great entry level alarm, although like stated above there is no tone setting or sensitivity control, so on windy days you will get false beeps. the delkim ev plus would be next at 80$ and offers volume tone and sensitivity control. the fox micron mx is another good choice and offers all3 settings.

Chris, would you sacrifice one alarm for a while to upgrade in quality? If I went with the Delkim EV+ I could pick up 2 right now and a third later. I think I like the delkim better then the fox micron mx. If I'm reading this right the delkim has multiple sensitivity settings and the micron mx only has 2?

if you got 3 micron MX you would love them and you would be A LOT happier with 3 alarms. Fox makes a great alarm and you wont be disappointed. Personally, i would go with Fox alarms and get 3

if you fish tight line sensitivity doesn't mean chit. I fish around a lot of people and their alarms are beeping like r2d2 all day and night while mine are on high sensitivity and only make sound when i get a fish

lol I heard that. I fish mine a lot tighter than everyone else, but I know if I get even a single beep its more than likely a fish!
