sooo yesterday around 4:30 I met my buddy from work at katie woods to go fishing for his birthday. He was on a tarpon 120 and i and angler 10. we launched and slowly made our way to the island he got a LMB on the way to the island. we fished for a bit got nothing. Well while we were fishing I was telling him about these coves across the lake and apparently i made emm sound way to good bc next thing i know were paddling across the lake... well we get to the first cove around and the water in it was super low so we just explored (I was looking for a fishing pole I lost a few months ago)then as we were coming out the creek in the back of the cove my friend is like weres my fishin pole.... we walked that creek and no luck... Then I realized how screwed we were bc it was now around 7:15ish and we didnt bring lights.... at this point were paddling hard to get back but we had a decent wind pick up and hit us in the face. at this point were in the middle of the lake and its getting dark... luckly i see a boat and blow my whistle to get their attention they stopped and asked us what in the hell we were doing... and of course we told em what happened.. They offered us a tow and we took it in a heart beat... NOW THE FUNNY PART. we both got a rope I didnt think to run it through my front handle so I start going sideways and just let go. My friend stewii had it rigged right but we we took back off his front handle broke.. so hes holding the rope and trying to steer and next thing you know he flips!!! lol so he climbs back on and straddles it and he had it this time! were going at about a fast paddle when i look over at my friends yak and notice the back was riding super low and look back at mine which was not low at all!! I yell the the guys pulling us that stewii is sinking the idle up and stewii flipped so I grabbed the side handle of his yak bc its sinking stewii is swimming to the boat and luckly they backed up and managed to get the nose of the yak up on the back of the boat and after that we finally made it to the ramp at katie woods and we thank them and all offer em money that they didnt want.. well it turns out my friend had left his back hatch open and thats why he sank.... poor dude lost his tackle box his fishing pole and his lifejacket... I'm still trying to figure out how we lost the life jacket bc those things float
anyways sorry for the long story but its was a great time i have to share
