I just got home and thought I would pass this on I have seen several post last week about folks heading down in the next few weeks. If you cross the ferry from Aransas pass to port A I saw at least 7 boats anchored up on the left side as close as they could get to the bulk head. I saw one big red landed and 2 other boats had fish on. I have caught some big reds in that aera also. If your bank fishing I saw lots of big reds being caught at the jetties in Port A. Hope it helps

Becarful fishining close to the ferry, Game Wardens will write you in a heart beat for fishing within 100 ft. of the bulk head

Was out on the jetties on Sunday, only saw a couple hard heads, one gray snapper, a piggie perch, and a stargazer landed.

I did get a few bites (one small hard head, one needle fish) and one big take that had me seriously outgunned. My 7.5' casting rod with Citica 200dsv just couldn't handle whatever it was... If it hadn't cut me off I would be respooling my reel right now instead of writing this. I wish I had got a better look at it, but it was easily over 30 pounds, and hit a white Rapala slash bait about 5 yards off the rocks. Don't know if it was a shark, bull red, tarpon, or what... (bout half way out, on the inside of the pass). Made the day worth it, plus luckily I had got that Rapala on sale.

Total Number of Fish Species Caught: 81 (19 on the fly)
