I had a slow day for crappie but managed to put 4 nice ones in the ice chest. I fished in my Pond Hopper 2man bass boat today by myself for the first time and learned that it is very hard to manage in the wind. Gonna have to fabricate a rudder to use the boat when I fish alone in the wind. It was fun in spite of the frustration with the boat. Any ideas on a rudder will be appreciated.

Searched eBay and found a rudder for $22.50. Don't know if it would work on your make/model but the guy said something about making a batch of them in his spare time. Might give you an idea on your fabrication. Good luck to you!

I couldn't find it on ebay searching for rudders. If you can tell me how to find it I would greatly appreciate it. Rather pay the 22.50 than mess with fabricating on. Sure appreciate your help.

This is just a replacement rudder blade, not the assembly and does not include the tiller. Try searching for paddle boat rudder. Item number:290769921654, like I said it might give you an idea on fabricating your own. Maybe someone out there knows of an inexpensive solution.

I need the clamp on mount and all. I appreciate your trying to help. Splash Marine sold and is now Southern Marine in L.R.Ark.. Got in toudh with them and they gave me a dealer that sell their stuff in Davis,Ok. Talked to them and they will have me a price for a clamp on rudder for my boat in the morning. Hope it is not too high but if it is I will fabricate something that will work. I am not in the best of health and sold my complete shop including my welding equipment but I have friends that will weld up something for me if I come up with a plan. Think I'll stay off the water for a day or two anyway becasue of the heat. If I can ever be of help from up here let me know. you should come up here to the Blue river and trout fish some time. Beautiful place and nice trout. I took a friend one day last winter who had never caught a trout and we caught 12 trout that weighed 23 lbs.. She is ruined for life and plans to spend a lot of time on the river this winter. Thanks again.

I have a good friend who is an artist with a fly rod. He casts while I flail but we both catch fish. I'll look you up on our next excursion!
