I'm wanting help to find a honest and reasonable boat machanic for my boat motor. Last time I went out the boat ran fine but when I was trailoring it the motor would run fine in idole but when I would throw it in gear to go it would die. It is a out board 35 horse pwr Evinrude. Oh and would help if it was in the Garland/Rockwall area thanks for the help.

Before I took it to a shop, I would try draining all of the gas and replace with new gas with a little Sea Foam. It souinds like it may have water and bad gas varnish. Run the engine long enough at idle to get the new gas completely thru the carbs. Clean out the gas filter and/or replace the filter element.

If this don't help look for a reputable mechanic.

This. Plus put some new plugs in it, rebuild the fuel pump, and run sta-bil if you run ethanol gas.

If you have an old metal tank, you may want to consider trading it in on a new plastic one...those old metal tanks will develop rust inside of them, get's in the engine..... Call Tommy at Rockwall marine!!!
