Jeff, I like it on a 7'3 TFO MH .. Hang up a Slab and I would bet the 30lb test I run gets my slab back 80 to 85 % of the time !

the hooks usually bend a little smile but I get my baits back..

Me too Bob I agree. Power Pro 30 or 20 pound with a 6 or 8 pound diameter. Good for casting too thumb

I am using 20 lb on President reels on a 7 1/2 rod. I have caught hybrids to 26 inches on them. Oh what fun.

I hear wind knots are bad on spinning reels?

I have not had that problem. The heavy lures we use in fishing for sandbass and hybrids generally keeps that from happening. Also i always tie straight to the braid and do not use a floro leader.

I use 20lb braid on all 3 of my spinning reels and love it. The only thing I hate about it is my eyes are getting too old to tie a decent knot sometimes.

When I am fishing and KNOW I need added strength, I buy the cheap Zebco Ominiflex at Walmart for my spinning gear. 20# works great and is about 6# diameter. I have not had any more problems out of it than I have the expensive stuff. Wind knots and tangles are the only gripes I have about braid. Other than hanging up and not being able to break it rolfmao

One little side note for me anyway.... If you like to put a Floro leader on braid, I usually have people cut it off and either tie straight to braid or put 20# Big Game on. I only fish Tawakoni and our water never get clear enough for it to make a difference. Some lakes it does, but Tawakoni isn;t a clear lake. It seems like I have a lot more breaks when folks use a floro leader, so I have basically advised against it on my boat.

When using slabs I use braid with a fluro leader. On Buchanan the fluro makes a difference.

Keith, are you using a leader or tying straight to the lure?

Jeff I use it on my spinning reels, it seems to get less line twists. I don't use anything heavier tha 12lb test.

Jeff, I use 30 lb power pro on my spinning reels. I tied a mono leader for the lighter tail spinners. I like braid.

This pic is from this morning. Braid on my spinning reel, and the McQueen tail spinner lure.

You missed a great morning of catching, Jeff Yaffe. There were only three boats. Jeff, Jeff and Todd. If you went this morning then it would be Jeff, Jeff, Jeff and Todd and a couple of acres of schoolies early morning grin

Just make sure you close your bail manually with your hands and then pull your line into your line roller after every cast and you wont have any problems with wind knots. Remember if you are used to using mono, set your drag a bit looser so you dont pull the hook when he takes off with that heavy slab in his mouth.
