Welcome to 2012. This topic has been discussed lately. Just think, if you didn't have the year pass it would be 10$ to get in. FL-Fishlady I have read your posts about fish bites the last few months and by far, they have been the most consistent bait in the tackle box. They catch most everything, only one hardhead in 13 weeks on fish-bites, and for the grandkids they stay on for awhile. I bought them right where you said.(H.E.B.)in port Isabel. Alot closer to Bass Pro and afew cents cheaper. One good thing about the 5$ a day bag fee was I thought it ended September 1 or 15. Keep us posted, We are going to corpus this weekend, but its only 2 hrs longer to the island.

Good to hear it ENDS!!!!!!! This is ridiculous! It's like charging to fish the surf or use the beach! Glad to hear you are catching lots of fish with the "FishBites" Wish I was the inventor, I'd be rich lol fish

You get your $5 back when you leave the beach with your
trash in the bag. Something had to be done. Some people
where trashing out the beach.

Well I hope bag charge is working. I hate seeing beautiful places I like being trashed by people that have no self respect or respect for anyone else.

The bag thing only works if you pick up your trash. I have been there and trash, lawn chairs, barbeques, broken canopies, horse poop as far as you can see. I have drove to the Mansfield cut many times and its a little better, seems like the father you drive north, the cleaner it gets. Me and the wife do not generate a full bag of trash(not even close) but we walk and pick up a few things here and there. It will not kill you folks, is it our job? (NO) but I try to do my part to keep the beach open forevryone.

The 'guard' at #5 didn't tell me anything about getting your money back?!? I'd not have complained if I was told that was the case. fish

it's 5 bucks. really?

On my family's last trip to PINS a few weeks ago,
we ended up dragging about 50# of garbage
off the beach. watched some loser in a tahoe
toss his Corona bottle on the way out.
picked that up, too.
it's about teaching the kids what's right.
5 bucks is nothing to me, comparatively
I love PINS, for more reasons than I have dollars.

Like I said, IF I'd been told I'd get my money BACK, I wouldn't even have started all this. But, nobody told me. I just couldn't see paying someone $5 for a garbage bag! fish

I bet if they enforced the littering law and fined everybody who trashed the place, they could pay a whole Police Force.

AND I bet most of the trash doesn't even come from Fishers, but partyers.

Yes, they are pretty vague when you pull up to the booth, they say 10 dlares, you pay and they hand you two tickets, one white and one blue (with a bag) And you go on your business, it does not have to be full, BUT you need that blue ticket that is stamped for that day. (Gotcha) I like to go in the afternoon and stay till the morning bite or lunchtime and when I left I handed them the blue ticket with my bag, and he says it was yesterday's ticket. And no 5$ back. Thats another thing that is not mentioned. I didn't even know about the annual pass you can buy for like 37$ for the year instead of 5$ everytime you go in. Someone on the beach told me, they dont advertise that too. Saved me alot of money, since in 13 weeks I been to the baech at least 40 times. And your right Pferox, 95% of the trash is from partyers.

You can get a discount on the yearly pass if you have proof you were in the service, a Veteran. My husband is and we got the discount last year. We need to replace our sticker mid September. fish
