Just wondering if anyone here had fished this pier I never realized it was there and I will be going back there sept 10 and staying for a few days and I have fished all the pay piers and the pier on station st as well as the charles something pier but never realized this Roberts point park was even there from the map it looks like you go to the ferry but take a right and it leads to this park that has a pier it looks like it in a good spot from what I can tell on the map but if anyone could give some feed back on this pier that would be great as I'm not wanting to waist a night of fishing to only catch hardheads lol

There are definitely fish there. I've caught small specks and decent drum and seen many large drum and bull reds caught by others off that pier.

Ok so I did some more research and found out the pier at Roberts point park is called jp luby pier but I still can't find much more info so my question still remains is this a good spot to fish has anyone other then the one response fished here before or is this a magical pier that no one knows about and the fish will just jump on my hook since this place is so under fished lol but really there has to be some others that fished this pier before and can provide some kinda feed back I mean really its not like I'm going to catch all the fish lol whats the big secret I see plenty of people have read this post

I've seen people pull out a couple reds and black drum on this pier you speak of, but personally I've fished this pier many times and never caught anything. maybe its the dolphins that cruise right by the pier or what but I've never caught there. I've had better luck fishing off the rocks further down on that point where the channel runs. good luck. but the jetties have always been good all the way at the end id try there. and never i mean never go to charlies pasteur. fished there for years and not one fish. well a stingray but no reds, trout. its a no-no spot on my list. hope this helps.

I have to ask you zombie how do you fish at Charles pasture because I always catch when I'm there just never caught any drum over there but plenty of gafftops and stingrays whiting and hardheads that's the pier I would take any new fisher to since it produces a lot of catches, now Charles pasture has the same issue with dolphins around 11pm to 2pm you can count on them being there but you can still catch fish when they are there granted it does slow down

thats usually what i go for is reds, black drum, or trout. never caught any of those there either. not fond of the stingrays, gaftops, or hardheads. i was taught as a child that those are the trash fish, the bottom feeders. so lol to this day i still hate fishing for them. don't get me wrong pulled a couple gaftops, and a lot of hardheads there, but not what I'm looking for. i usually fish with cracked crab, d.o.a. or live shrimp, and mullet. sometimes croaker. yes i see the dolphins pass by late at night there too. but haven't fished there for about 2 years now.

Oh ok sounds like you have the same problem that I have over there just catching everything other then what you want to catch over there, what's crazy is when you look online a lot of people say its a hot spot for black drum I don't see how because I have never seen anyone catch any over there and I guess that's why I'm not wanting to go there

Roberts Point has a great fish cleaning building that is all set up and free. I use it often as is close, and has a great set up.

Yes, the pier by the condos at the end of Station Street. Check it out on Google Earth. Is is open to the public or is it a private pier?
