Anyone know why the corp is not letting Lake O Pines fill up? I know there has been enough rain up there to at least bring the lake up some. But I see the gates open on the dam pretty often.

Call up your friendly government agency and inquire. If you get an answer out of that sideshow of an institution, please post your findings on here. It would be greatly appreciated.

One of the great mysteries!
You can avoid having ulcers by adapting to the situation: If you fall in the mud puddle, check your pockets for fish. ~Unknown
Open your eyes & look within, are you satisfied with the life youre living.
No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life. Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs.

Its only down 3 little old feet, thats just 1 yard, 36 little old inches. Problem is their "normal" isn't so normal.... For instance normal level on Rayburn is in the bushes..... Normal level on Pines is 2-3' below the bushes and shoreline.... They need to readjust the norm.....

I find new stumps in the boat lane on every trip I make.....you would think after all these years I would know where every stump is.....I think someone keeps putting more stumps out! LOL!
I bent my prop at Toledo....and I plan on keeping it bent until LOP gets back to normal. No sense is doing the repairs twice!

The million dollar question is Will it catch any water from this storm thats brewing I might sound like a pessimist....but if we did get rain they will let it out to Caddo. I think this level is our new normal. It seems like every year the lake gets low and stays like this until next spring rains. We just don't get the fall/winter rains like we used too. Years ago the Sabine would rise/flood....Pines would be REAL high.....but hasn't done that in years..... Another reason why the ducks don't stop here in East Texas anymore.....no water like there used to be. Backwaters and sloughs have been dry for several years. I think East Texas is the new West Texas....and West Texas is the new Death Valley.

Just got my boat back from Hector at G&B in Henderson because of damage at the Pines $5,800 dollars worth! But,he did a fantastic job, it looks like a new boat! I have a new neighbor that works for the corp at Pines. I'm going to ask him whats up. If yall noticed the "new" conservation pool is suppose to be 230.0. Be careful in the boat lane in front of the bluehole it's really shallow! Don't know how much longer we will be able to run through there or in front of the water intake.

What the Corps is going to say is, we are in the water management business not the fishing business. Have heard it many times. So....................Manage it for #$%# sake.
