Headed to Corpus in a couple weeks.

Looking for some advice on lodging, fishing, restaurants and beaches. I was hoping to fish a little off a dock or pier but if a party boat was cheap enough I might go that route.

We are planning to go the the Lexington and the Aquarium - anything else we should see?

thanks

The jetty next to the Lexington has been producing Sheepshead. You will see the jetty next to the ramp as you enter the Lex. It is free, the jetty.

The Lex gets hot as the day wears on. Get there early (when they open), do the tour and then head to the aquarium.

If the beach is you focus then stay on N. Padre or Mustang Island/Port Aransas. If fishing is you focus then stay in Aransas Pass or Rockport.

I like the Lex jetty mentioned above. We fished it at night (which is very scenic) and wore out the mangroves. That was in late September a couple years ago.

If you've got the gear for it try surf fishing from the beach at Mustang Island.

Go to indian point pier, it's right across the nueces bay causeway. If you head out to padre, hit up bob hall pier. There is always something to catch out there.

Bob Hall pier has been producing Kings, and some monster tiger sharks.

Just got back from port a. Stayed at la mirage not bad right on the beach and lots of places to fish off the bank The la mirage has a website it's about the cheapest condos down there. Out of corpus take 286 to 358 turn left on 361 It was my first time to the ocean so I thought it was pretty cool. There's a place called snoopys on 358 not bad eating there. Hope this helps a little.

B&J's pizza is excellent, for good seafood, try pier 99 by the lexington. For good texmex, goo to Kiko's.

KIKO'S!!? <SLAP> Kiko's stuff is frozen and from a can. Dont eat there, not authentic. Go to Acapulco...there are many, they are authentic Mexican. Seafood, I went to pier99, not impressed. Snoopy's is better in my opinion. B&J's is awesome...so is Panjo's and they have live entertainment on weekends.

I take issue, sir. Kiko's is great food. I grew up in Corpus and of all the places I had gone to for Tex Mex, Kiko's is not to be out done. Acapulco is different, that is Mexican food, not Tex Mex. And yes, it sucks. lol B&J's pizza makes a fine pie, but Panjo's leaves a lot to be desired. I agree Snoopy's is great food, but there is plenty of room in Corpus for good seafood. I would also include pier 99 on that list.
