any fish you have to wrap in bacon before cooking to make it palateable is not "good" in my humble opinion, nor is it worth space on my grille. Especially when it's full of mercury and PCB's.
Ick!

As a side-note, my family & I are about to enjoy some excellent AJ steaks, from a nice, young 40" fish.
Baked w/ lemon & red bell pepper slices, a dash of Tony C's, Eye-tie dressing & shiner for 12 minutes @ 350.

i have not had bad AJ recipe yet, but kings on the other hand are tricky. some good recipes above, but try cutting kf strips 1/2" x 1/2" x 6-8" long, marinate in equal part honey and teriyaki and slow smoke until the consistency of a soft jerky. makes great boat and deer huntin snacks....

Ball the kingfish, marinate in stubbs pork marinade 2 hours, grill on skewers with peppers and mushrooms and baste with butter

If that ain't good then stick with a fish sammich from mcdonalds cuz you don't know what good is.

Kingfish is good with a nice asian mustard based sauce. I like to saute it in a frying pan with a little oil and salt, make a sauce out of mustard and soy sauce and dip the fish in the sauce.

I guess if someone doesn't know how to cook then King might taste like that. Proper preparation will go a long way.

Like all those guys on the THF that don't like the taste of deer meat. I suspect that they're culinary skills are seriously lacking.

My question is why would anyone know what a bloody tampon taste like?! grin

Mmmm love kingfish, keep it cold from ocean to freezer and be sure to cut out most of the dark meat. Same goes for any fish though so not sure that matters.

I love deer but don't care for elk, opinions vary...

IMHO... AJ and Kings both tasted good. It taste even better when its fresh. I've bought a lot of Russel lures but have never used it. I've always had fresh bait on hand or Ribbon fish to use. Maybe one of these days I'll give it a try.
