Is Cibolo Creek at Cresent Bend fishable or is it covered up with scum & lots high weeds (snakes) ? Would it be worth putting in a kayak ?

It's usually gummed up with creek barf by this time, but we've had a good rain and a lot of that stuff gets washed away directly after a storm. Cibolo/Schertz got a good amount of rain, about 1.5" so I would think the creek would be GREAT right now.

I've kayaked it 4 or 5 times this year -- it's a great stream!

I fished there last week before the rain and the top portion of the water was starting to get that green vegetation. I was able to fish but really had to pin point my cast. Fish were super active and biting. Especially the Rios. cheers

Thanks for the replys...I'll have to make a trip down there . Many years ago, I lived in Cibolo, about 200 yds from the Creek & had easy access to it, those were fun times. I've caught a lot of big carp & cats, but development ended it all. Where is the best place to put in a yak ?

It's pretty overgrown shoreline and water vegetation right now. I actually just got home from fishing it and ran into the infamous Banker Always Fishin. It's fishable if you don't mind unhooking all the moss. I may get tangled more than you though since I use a fly rod.

Thanks again for all the replys. From past experiences, I know there are a lot of fish in the ol Cibolo. I have thought about launching a yak at the low water crossing & head upstream. I just wonder how far I could go ?

Go from the second picnic table in the park. You won't make it far from that spot in the photo. Just out of sight from this is a very skinny, in both meanings(shallow and bank to bank), section that you won't make it through in a yak upstream.
