Planning on going out with my son early thursday. What pattern are the sand bass on after the storms? Any shooling? How are the bubbles and humps doing. How deep or shallow? Will report back on how our trip was.

I was there a week ago and found them on the east ridge by the island in 12 to 16 ft of water slabbing. They schooled late in the evening in the mouth of Scotts marina the day before. Water at that time was 86 deg and before we got all this rain. My trips were evening bites so the morning, maybe Murrel east flat may be a good starter point. I will be out Thursday eveing myself. Let us know how you do.

Well, Thurday evening was slow. Found lots ot 6" sandies at Meadomere flats and nothing at the island. I did find a few keepers at Murrel but with a broken trolling motor I had to resort to anchoring and it seemed if you were not right on top of them you were not producing. Had enough for a good fish fry. most were caught on the TNT magnum magnet(skinny slabs).

I mostly crappie fish but will slum around with the sandys if they overrun me,that being said the last two times out I have been hit with large schools of sandys west of the rock crusher along the north bank, and they were keepers up to 13-14 ",I just started casting my jig out and did a fast retrieve, got hit every time,I have also marked some pretty big schools by the humps N/O the rock crusher, last week a few blew up over by the island but they were all small 6-7",so if I were sand bass fishing I would go west, almost all the fish crapppie/sandbass I have caught were feeding on really small shad so I would throw something fairly small.

Well thanks guys for the inputs but I didn't get to go out at all. Wife didn't have any breaks but very uncomfortable. She is already in an electric wheel chair and having other problems so could not leave her. Not sure when I will get out again unless I can get someone to stay with her. Maybe end of next week will make it??? I did get to finish hanging my lights in my barn. Next week start on running duct work for my dust collector.
