Hi guys,

I'm a local freshwater guy headed to South Padre with the family on Sept. 20-23. September 21st is that Friday, and I'm wanting a great saltwater experience. Is that trout? Redfish? Shark? I'm eager to hear some advice from you guys and maybe get a phone number or two on guides you recommend to take me out for a half day.

All depends on what kind of boat you're taking. If it's a shallow water flats rig, it's going to be epic..

The wind usually flattens out in september, and big healthy trout will go on a topwater rampage, areas like three island, saucer, etc will really produce.

Don't know if you are interested in dove hunting but you will be in a prime hunting area during the first week of season. Cast and blast!

Be sure to fish the bay when you are in SPI it's an awesome fishery. IMHO the waters there are more scenic than in the upper bay. All due respect to Baffin Bay (best trout fishery in Texas) but since size and possession limits have been altered they catch trout 25" and up from Mansfield to South Bay. I caught a 27 last year.

Hey guys..... I'm going to post some cool pics of my trip. Thanks for all of your suggestions. I went with a buddy's recommendation. The guys name was George Strader. We got in the reds like nobody's business.
