I'm getting ready to pick up a sonar/gps unit for my new pontoon and am needing some suggestions. I'd like to stay in the sub $500 range. Need gps and sonar. I love the DI ones but DI isn't necessarily a requirement. My old boat had a lowrance 332c and i love it. Right now i'm looking at these models...
Any suggestions are appreciated

Humminbird 597ci HD Sonar Internal GPS Fishfinder Combo
Humminbird 587ci HD Sonar Internal GPS Fishfinder Combo
Humminbird 587-Ci HD DI GPS/Fishfinder Combo

The first two are identical except for screen width. A wide screen is better for dual views 597ci HD.

The 587ci HD DI is a limited issue model not shown on the Humminbird web site. It is just the DI version of the 587ci HD at lower price point than the 597ci HD DI.

All good units.

I've always had lowrance units, but lowrance doesnt seem to sell a sonar/gps combo for less than $500 these days...what a shame.

IF you don't need as big of a screen you can get the 300 Series in a GPS, 2D Sonar, DI Version for less than $500
