I have a Talon and I really like it. PP has been out longer but I think Minn Kota got it right with the up and down like a garage door. Pretty simple design. I have also seen guys get the PP hit or ripped off at tournaments where they have them out and down and the other boat hit it underwater. There are plenty who like the PP also. New bracket out for the Talon that has a swivel back on to the back deck pretty cool. Either way they both work I just like it simple. You can hook it up yourself and if you want to take it off just unbolt and unplug. Simple !

They are both nice. But i went with powerpole because of my car port. I let it down then back it under. I know the talon can swivle down to the deck, but to me that creates a weak point. That is how i made my discision. But you cant go wrong with either and once you own one you will never be without.

Aw c'mon, Bennie. Are you bored or what? No, I am not bored. I am actually looking at multiple boats and a few have Talons and a few have PP's. I had always thought that the PP deployed would cause a hazard for those people who like to crowd other fishermen. Marc confimed my thoughts. bigcat85 --- eff off.

Your new boat has 2 10' PP on it already Your boat is one of the boats. Still awaiting word on contract. I thought we had the wedding covered. I was a little mistaken. . I then had to replace the transmission on my truck. Carrying a bed full of rocks around for a few weeks and pulling the boat was not a good choice. But, I had to go fishing.

Remember that with a PP you can lower it to get under a low bridge to get ot back waters. Last fall that was came into play for me on Dardenelle. One of the areas I found I could not have gotten to with a Talon

Powerpole, it's more versatile especially with the new drift paddle attachment.

I have been in boats with a pair of both...The PP's are quieter, but both get the job done.
