1. The thump 2. Easy to fillet and easier to cook 3. Nothing is more fun to catch on 4 lb test line!

Crappie fishing is "finesse fishing" unlike bass or catfish. I like finesse fishing; light line, small baits, sneak up on 'em, then THUMP.

Pretty sure its my Native American (Natural) heritage. My grandfather lived to fish and hunt and being outdoors was just the natural thing to do. I know I hate having to go in the house anytime, just have to be on the lake and the thrill of beating the crappie at his game is what it's all about. Of course, catching 4 and 5 pound crappie several times a day helps too! YaTaHay

What would everyone do if something happened such as a fish virus like west nile or something. Would us crappie fishermen survive?
It's time to "Set The Hook"!!!!!!

What would everyone do if something happened such as a fish virus like west nile or something. Would us crappie fishermen survive? no fish survived? You'd probably find crappie fishermen on rooftops dangling lines baited with yarn balls and tipped with dry cat food getting their thump fix from feral cats or something similar.
