I tow a 30ft and a 21' Ranger with a 1 ton duramax. No problems. My next one will be bigger. I asked a guy at the highway dept. and he said it was 65' for the trailer and boat only. It did not sound right to me but he assured me it was. Interesting. Can anyone else confirm this?

I got pulled over for towing a 30ft 5th wheel with a 12 ft trailer carrying a Polaris Ranger. Trooper told me they don't measure distance, but overall gross weight from towing vehicle ( on the door) and I also needed a none comercial CDL. never heard that before.

I have heard that sometimes state troopers will pull you over and ask for a CDL but you should reply that you don't fish to make money and so its not for commercial purposes.

He said you need a noncommercial CDL? You do realize that CDL stands for Commercial Driver's License right? So it sounds like a regular driver's license should work
