Since we have just about decided to give up our west Texas mule deer hunt, due to the drought conditions, We are considering spending the week of Thanksgiving at San Luis Pass. We haven't really done much winter fishing there and wonder if the fishing is any good that time of year.....We don't know what to expect.....We have always fished summer or spring down there....

Given a choice, I'd head a little further south.

There is fine fishing to be had in November. And that fish's name is Flounder! November is the height of the flounder run. If youre staying at San Luis you can fish there of make a quick run down to Matagorda or even up to Galveston over on Bolivar. Think marsh drains and muddy bottoms on moving tides. Mud minnows or shrimp or cut bait Carolina rigged or even small jigs tipped with shrimp

consider the surf also, for the bull red run. they should be preetty thick towards the end of november, depending on the fronts...and while you are playin with reds, you can light tackle anything fromtrout to pompano.

The fishing at the San Luis Pass and lower West Bay will be on fire in the month of November. The Flounder move through the Pass in November when they migrate to the Gulf. A lot of Flounder in Chocolate, Bastrop, and Christmas bay that make there way through the pass. Trout fishing is excellent at the Pass in November. Some awesome topwater action will be happening then. Also, look for the bird action in lower West Bay to be good to. November is an awesome month to be on the bays.

November is the best time to fish.

The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.
