I was there last weekend. Lots of schooling activity. We caught fish on about everything. Jigs, c-rig, a-rig, drop-shot. I saw other boats catch fish on swim baits and crankbaits. You have two choices, find your own fish and let the boats come to you, or follow the boats. I put a buoy out for refernce and after three fish we had 15 boats fishing the buoy and around us. It was that way most of the day Saturday. 12 - 25 ft deep produced for us.

Schooling has turned off since last week. You can still catch them but not as easy as the last few weeks.

That's why I don't fish Fayette anymore. The amount of boats on that lake and inconsiderate fisherman is ridiculous. But a buddy has been killing them at night lately out there. Averaging 30 a night on crankbaits out on the ledges.
I can backlash toilet paper.

To me, fishing for schooling bass in the middle of a lake is sort of a free-for-all. It's not like you know exactly where the heck they are going to pop up so you can never really be in "someone's spot". The best thing to do, when you see a large group of boats real close to each other, it generally means schooling bass are around, Turn off the big motor early and troll in. There's room enough for everyone.

There's room enough for everyone. Exactly, but it's just like saltwater. People will run right through the school or chunk a lure directly at almost hitting your boat being to close. I've seen it a hundred times. Nowadays bass fishing I go out of my way to avoid schooling fish and find another pattern. But thats just me.

I don't care bout other boats fishing near when when thy are schooling, this time of year that's what people do. Many do not understand this. Buoy's don't matter when they are schooling in my opinion.

I wasn't fishing schooling fish. I put the bouy out to reference the road bed I was fishing. The schooling activity was 150 - 200 yards away.

Went fri-Sun, worst trip ever for me. Caught 2 fri afternoon, 2 sat, 0 sun. Had better luck with the catfish jugs sun, 10 channels and a 5lb bass lol, best bass of the trip on jug line. Tried mostly deep rock piles for the bass, the bites were really lite. As far as scoolies didnt see anything worth throwin at down on the southend of the lake.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully I can entice them to bite this weekend.
