 Can you upgrade transducer for lowrance hds5.

I was out fishing and heard a clanking sound. Found transducer mount broken. Tansducer was flapping against the boat. I was wondering if it could be upgraded. Mount and transducer?

Tell me more about this. This looks nice. I have a 22 ft blue wave. Cc. Wil it work. Where does it mount? Does it improve sonar any?

I epoxied mine in my Panga, lowest place in the bilge where the hull was the smoothest on the outside, away from turbulence. Hull cannot have any voids or air bubbles. Every boat would be a little different. I get a good reading at 25 mph, just had to crank the sensitivity a bit. Buddy gave me a tip to thin the epoxy with a lttle alcohol, which eliminates air bubbles when you mix it up. I even get a pretty good temp reading thru the hull. You can put water in the bilge, and have someone hold the transducer in different locations while you run, to find the sweet spot.

Yes--If you do a post in the electronics section you will probably get a bunch of help there. Not trying to run you off this one just trying to get you the most help possible. I mounted a shoot through in my yak that worked well but I have a Humminbird in my CC.
