I dont use a full on circle hook. Ive always called them mosquito hooks. usually in a 2/0 or so, pretty small hook. Most of the time I just nose hook em but lately ive bee threading them on and seems like my baits arent getting torn up so bad anymore

Owner Rig 'N Hook in 2/0 is one of, if not the best, hooks for the Drop Shot presentation. The only thing better is River A Tackles Spin N' Rig which consists of the same Owner hook. Click the link in my signature to check it out!

Use different hooking methods for different baits. If you have a fish tank, you will learn a lot by seeing how the baits behave. I typically thread on or nose hook smaller baits depending on their natural bouyancy and ability to lay horizontal in the water. When using larger baits, I will sometimes use the "goofy" Standout hooks only because they provide the leverage for a horizontal presentation.
Best advice is to spend about an hour in front of an aquarium with different baits to get a feel for what they do under water. You might be very surprised.

I'm getting to where I prefer a 1/0 EWG hook and tx-pose the bait on the hook. I can fish more structure with less hang ups.
