The concept of fizzing a fish is new to me. How many out there fizz a bass that is caught from deeper water? Is it crucial to know how to do this if you are fishing spots that are 20+ feet deep in the summer months?

Do you fizz every fish caught or do you wait to see how they are doing in the livewell?

I've had to fizz fish this year that were caught in less than 10ft of water and boated quickly. Its not just a deep water deal, it also has a lot to do with stress and water temp IMO.

Do you fizz every fish caught or do you wait to see how they are doing in the livewell? No. Only the one's who need it. I don't tournament fish so seldom ever put fish in the livewell. However, when releasing a fish with "the bends" it will not be able to go back down, in which case I will retrieve the fish and fizz before releasing.

I never new that. I thought to only fizz the ones caught deep. But, it's good to keep a jar of Catch and Release in the boat for the stressed..

Absolutely. Lot of fish caught in the deeper water have to be fizzed in the summer.

Ive seen a few caught "shallow" needing to be fizzed. Only guess is they came from their deeper haunts to feed...

What kind of info is out there that the fish survives after its been stabbed. Not trying to start anything, I was going to ask this question not long ago.
